How to Add Candidate Name and Date to TNPSC Photo

Published on: August 22, 2026

TNPSC notifications explicitly state that photos uploaded without a candidate name and photography date printed on a white strip will be rejected immediately.

1. Formatting Rules for Name and Date Banners

The white background strip must cover the bottom portion of the photograph. Your full name must be written in capital letters (uppercase) and aligned in the center. Directly below the name, the photography date must be written in DD.MM.YYYY format (with dots as separators).

2. Why Manual Editing is Difficult

Using MS Paint or photoshop templates manually often leads to issues such as text blurriness, compression levels exceeding the 50KB maximum size, or wrong aspect ratios. Banners created manually might not match the required 200 DPI scan specifications either.

3. Automated Canvas Creation

Our web-based TNPSC photo resizer solves this problem. Simply upload your plain passport photo, enter your name and date, and click convert. The script scales the image to 276x354 px, generates a compliant white text strip at the bottom, overlays your details, and compresses it down to the exact 20KB-50KB limits.
